Nigeria has taken a decisive step toward revolutionizing its agricultural sector with the arrival of 2,000 cutting-edge tractors from Belarus. The full delivery will include 2,000 tractors alongside 9,027 essential farming implements—such as ploughs, harrows, seeders, and boom sprayers—designed to enhance efficiency across different types of agricultural activities.

Three-Pronged Distribution Strategy

To ensure widespread access and maximum impact, the federal government has introduced three key distribution models:

1. Direct Purchase Model – Farmers and agribusinesses can acquire tractors outright, enabling them to integrate mechanized farming into their operations immediately.

2. Leasing Program – A cost-effective alternative that allows smallholder farmers to use the tractors without the financial strain of full ownership.

3. Service Provider Model – Tractors will be deployed to strategic service centers where farmers can rent them as needed, ensuring accessibility for those in remote areas.

Long-Term Sustainability and Maintenance
