 Gunmen Abduct Wife of Retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu in Ogun State

In a distressing incident, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu was abducted from her residence in Arepo, Ogun State, on Thursday night.



Incident Details

At approximately 9:55 p.m., four masked gunmen ambushed Mrs. Odumosu as she arrived home.The assailants forcibly removed her from her Lexus SUV and led her through a swampy terrain to an undisclosed location.

Police Response

The Ogun State Police Command has initiated a comprehensive search and rescue operation.Spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola confirmed that the Divisional Police Officer of Warewa Division is spearheading the efforts, which include combing the surrounding swampy areas. Local community leaders have been engaged to mobilize local security forces in the riverine zones.

Commissioner of Police Lanre Ogunlowo has been briefed on the situation and has deployed covert operations and digital intelligence resources to ensure Mrs. Odumosu's safe return.






The abduction has heightened concerns among residents of Arepo and its environs, underscoring the pressing need for enhanced security measures in the area.

Ongoing Investigation

As of now, the kidnappers have not made any contact or ransom demands.The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in the swift rescue of Mrs. Odumosu.
