 Nigerian Police Force Enhances Professionalism with Distribution of New Uniforms and Kits

In a significant move to bolster the professionalism and operational efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Olukayode Egbetokun, has approved the distribution of newly standardized uniforms and kits to all personnel.This initiative aims to ensure a uniform appearance and enhance the visibility of officers nationwide.



Standardization of Supernumerary Police Uniforms

On September 3, 2024, IGP Egbetokun, represented by Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Finance and Administration, Mr. Bala Ciroma, unveiled the newly approved standardized uniforms and kits for Supernumerary Police (SPY) officers. This move addresses the longstanding challenge of establishing a distinct identity for SPY officers, who have previously faced difficulties due to the lack of standardized attire. The new uniforms are designed to present a professional and well-groomed image, thereby enhancing the officers' visibility and credibility.

Mandate for Strict Adherence

The IGP has mandated that all organizations utilizing SPY Police personnel strictly adhere to the new standardized uniforms.Guidance on registration and acquisition will be provided by the Force Quartermaster and personnel across the states.Additionally, all Police Training Schools are instructed to adopt the new uniform issuance model for SPY Police personnel.





This initiative underscores the NPF's commitment to professionalism and discipline within its ranks.By standardizing uniforms and kits, the force aims to present a unified and professional image to the public, thereby fostering trust and confidence in law enforcement.
