President Tinubu Arrives in Accra for Mahama's Inauguration
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria has arrived in Accra, Ghana, to attend the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama, scheduled for January 7, 2025.
Upon landing at Kotoka International Airport, President Tinubu was warmly received by Julius Debra, Chief of Staff to the Ghanaian President.
Mahama, who previously served as Ghana's 12th president from 2011 to 2017, was re-elected in December 2024 and is set to succeed President Nana Akufo-Addo.

As the Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, President Tinubu's presence underscores the strong bilateral relations between Nigeria and Ghana, as well as his commitment to regional cooperation within the Economic Community of West African States.
Accompanying President Tinubu are the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and other senior government officials.
This visit highlights the enduring diplomatic ties and mutual respect between the two West African nations, signaling a continued partnership aimed at fostering regional stability and development.
