NDLEA Declares Four Key Members of ‘Barryshine’ Drug Cartel Wanted

In a dramatic turn of events, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has declared four high-profile associates of the notorious Lagos drug kingpin, Alhaji Suleiman Aremu Ganiu, popularly known as Barryshine, wanted for their involvement in multiple drug trafficking activities. Barryshine, who is currently facing multiple criminal charges at the Federal High Court in Lagos, has been under the NDLEA's radar since 2022.

The Wanted Suspects

The court order, granted by Honourable Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos on January 28, 2025, names the following individuals as wanted suspects:

- Olarenwaju Ramon Abdulai (a.k.a Alhaji Loyingbo)

- Oluwafemi Akande Abidoye (a.k.a Igbono, Baba Eje, Ade Iwaya, Femi Iwaya)

- Olumuyiwa Olufemi Ilori (a.k.a Murphy)

- Alate Kafy Bakare Bukki of Kaffy Travels

Barryshine's Criminal Activities

Baryshine, the Managing Director/CEO of Barryshine Suleiman Nigeria Ltd, came under the NDLEA's watchlist due to his alleged role in four foiled attempts to export cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Qatar through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, between 2022 and 2024. His arrest on August 26, 2024, marked a significant victory for the anti-narcotics agency, which has since arrested, prosecuted, and convicted many of his mules.

Public Appeal for Information

The NDLEA has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding the whereabouts of the four wanted suspects. Members of the public are encouraged to contact the nearest NDLEA Command, call the toll-free helpline (080010203040), or reach out through their social media platforms: Instagram, X, TikTok (@ndlea_nigeria), Facebook (@ndlea01), and YouTube (@ndleatv).

NDLEA's Commitment to Dismantling Drug Cartels

The NDLEA's declaration of these suspects as wanted is part of its broader commitment to dismantling drug cartels and protecting the nation's integrity. The agency's relentless efforts have been instrumental in curbing drug trafficking activities and bringing perpetrators to justice.

The NDLEA's recent actions against Barryshine and his associates underscore the agency's unwavering dedication to combating drug trafficking. By declaring these key members wanted, the NDLEA sends a strong message that drug-related crimes will not be tolerated. The public's cooperation is crucial in ensuring that justice is served and that the fight against drug cartels continues to gain momentum.
